I was very excited for this assignment because I love to use filters on my own pictures before I post them. As we are transitioning into my favorite season, I wanted to create a filter with an orange tint to make my pictures look fall-like. The photos that I chose for this assignment are pictures that I have taken of nature, however I also chose a photo with myself in it as I wanted to see how the filter would look on a person.

First, I added a curves adjustment layer. After adjusting the curve, the new coordinates for the maximums or minimums of the curve were (193, 224) for red, (202, 225) for green, and (120, 63) for blue. Second, I added a brightness/contrast layer and raised the contrast to 75. Third, I added a new layer and lowered the hue to negative 9. Then, I added a vibrance layer and decreased the vibrance to negative 35. Finally, as one of the videos from "Work[ing] with Layers" explains, I turned the layers on and off to determine if I liked how the new layers looked compared to the original, and I also rearranged them to see how that would affect the pictures.

In my attempt to create a fall filter, I used pictures that I took in the summer to test if my filter actually did give the fall effect. Based on the pictures I chose, I would say that I was only successful with a few. I think that all of the pictures are just so different in lighting and vibrance to begin with, that my filter does not seem to make all of them look fall-like. However, I love how the filter enhanced the orange colors in my pictures.
